Electro-pop quintet The Faint contributes to the aura of Omaha, Nebraska, the village-like capital city that has produced some of the best American musicians in the past decade. The group, which originally included fellow Nebraskan Conor Oberst (of Bright Eyes fame), is best known for their dance anthems that were first articulated in their 1999 album Blank-Wave Arcade. The group replaced guitars with synths, creating a sound that makes you want to dance until you puke.

With each album the group produces, their sound only gets more refined and nuanced. After a four year hiatus, the group released Fasciinatiion, a pared down album that stays true to their electrifying beats but comes with more dark pop, inspired by the punk rock of the band member’s childhoods.

Check out their latest music video for the single The Geeks Were Right, which undoubtedly is only better live.Quote_transparent
