Warp records let electronica legends Plaid loose tonight in their first live show since a critically acclaimed outing at last year’s Big Chill. Plaid were never the most cutting edge outfit on Warp, but their sensitivity to writing the simple synthetic melodies with warm sentiments has won them many fans.
Preceding the special AV set, programming whiz Tim Exile samples his voice, splintering the vocals before reassembling it into something akin to an off-kilter boombox beat. Make sure to bring along some personal requests—Exile plays anything from gabba to shabba if you ask nicely.
Clark and acid legend Luke Vibert finish the line up meaning you get to see three of Warp’s best-known acts for the price of one. Bargain.
