Designers in Residence is an annual programme where the Design Museum invites five young designers to create site-specific work and transform the ground floor of the museum.

Marc Owens develops analytical projects, addressing issues of identity and ethics. His ideas span a diverse range of themes, exploring contemporary topics that enable us to engage with abstract concepts in a tangible and relevant way.

Dave Bowker works within the field of infographics and data visualisation, lucidly communicating in a structured and aesthetically engaging way. Comparing his specialism to working with puzzles, his responsibility is to solve problems by finding the best way to piece different elements together. For his final degree project, Bowker gave a fresh insight into how to convey news stories and information employing a visually dynamic approach, managing complex material but presenting in a simple format. Looking at alternative interfaces, Bowker finds new modes in which to communicate, applying the assets of graphic design in both commercial and cultural contexts.Quote_transparent
