The only thing this two-floor East End venue has in common with the ill-fated Shakespearean character is that both are a tragedy of moral order. At least for the band members and headband-wearing crew stomping through its grounds and crawling atop of its stage until closing time.
Perhaps its one saving grace is that Macbeth is run by musicians who stay loyal to their musical tendencies by arranging improv sessions called Mum’s Jams and cabaret performances on Wednesday nights. Other than that, this is one of the many places in Hoxton where the only sound to be heard is the sound of debauchery.
