Set inside the historic shell of the Hackney Gazette printing press is this fantastically eccentric space featuring a sprawling upstairs decked out with bohemian clutter (vintage sofas, iron beds, junk shop-style tables, desks, book cases, retro computers and the piece de resistance, a rope swing). There’s also wi-fi access and refreshments served during the day, making it a tempting alternative office space. By night bands and club nights are hosted in the street art-covered warehouse space downstairs. Music sticks firmly along slightly granola lines with plenty of reggae, ska, afrobeat and other more electronic sounds. Mid-week events include poetry readings, open mic, film screenings, poker, chess and quiz nights. Appropriate, given its name, Passing Clouds can be difficult to find, but that just makes stepping inside all the better.Quote_transparent
