This cheery bar/club in Shoreditch spreads out across two floors. Downstairs, it’s wooden booths, low-slung lamps and a backlit bar. Upstairs, it’s a small stage, Christmas lights and dance, dance, dance. Either way, the atmosphere’s warm and the East End crowd’s always clamouring for more.

The programme is pretty much an indie geek’s dream: rock, reggae, retro DJ sets, electro-pop, a friendly sort of pick’n’mix.

Pub snacks are served between noon and 22:30 from Tuesday to Saturday and until 21:00 on Sundays. During the daytime, there’s a popular pool table as well. Essentially, Catch aims to be a more fun version of your living room—and it’s all the better for it.
