<description_plain>Dubbing itself as "Notting Hill's Best Kept Secret," the 20th Century Theatre wears an enviable cloak rich in stage culture. The 19th-century English Heritage-listed building was once one of the city's five patent theatres and has changed faces more times than Elizabeth Taylor. At its peak, the theatre was briefly the hubbub point for dramatic societies like Harrods, D.H. Evans, etc. in the 1920s, when Sir Laurence Olivier also made his dramatic debut here. It finally emerged in 1999 in its current incarnation, as an event and art space.

These days, the venue hosts comedy, musical, corporate affairs (Air France, Vogue) and private bashes like wedding receptions and bat mitzvahs for those who can afford its pretty-penny asking price.</description_plain>
