<description_plain>Named after the stretch of water that tickles the shores of Ipanema and Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, this stylish live music haunt is a must for any fan of Brazilian beats and brews.

Live samba and salsa emanate from the speakers no less than seven nights per week while the drinks selection would have you thinking the Thames flowed directly into the Amazon. Expertly crafted Caipirinhas dangle from the hands of the sophisticated yet relaxed crowd (Guanabara apparently sells more than 3,000 of the potent cachaça cocktails per week), but if it's a slightly lighter evening you're after, the list of imported beers, wines and Amazonian fruit juices will not disappoint.

A few sips on on your Brahma beer should wash away any dancefloor shyness but if that doesn't do the trick, you can polish your moves at one of their midweek samba classes.</description_plain>
