Built in 1863, this colossal tavern came to prominence in the early 20th century as a music hall venue before eventually transforming into an underground transvestite revue club in the post World War II era. The club garnered a cult following which has translated into bona fide historic status today, thanks to its unabashed program of burlesque cabaret and drag queen comedy shows.
The onetime launching pad of Lily Savage, whose shows had people queuing around the block and built a cult following, this famed venue holds a 24 hour alcohol and noise license and hosts a variety of events throughout the week including bingo, parties and the unmissable Saturday night queer cabaret show Duckie.
