Well-versed in wine trading since 1870, the Davy family opened The Boot & Flogger in 1964 to add to their roster of wine-bars. The rich wooden interior, low lighting and leather chairs help ease patrons into the perfect mood to be accompanied by a glass of wine, champagne or sherry and port straight from the barrel.
The main dining room is also a great place to grab lunch or an early dinner should you have a hankering for a fillet of fish, or a steak and chips. The majority of the menu caters to casual drinking though, offering sides of olives, or herring and potatoes to go along with whatever your spirit of choice. The fruits of the vine are of top shelf character, a sentiment matched by the likes of the private social rooms and traditionally mannered staff. Join the elder gents having a midday drink, or show up at anytime to enjoy this London institution at your own pace. Arrive thirsty.
